MAHC Meeting Calendar

Board Meetings – Every third Wednesday of the month, 7:00 a.m.

Cesar Chavez Unity March & Festival

This exciting community event brings together students from the Mesa Unified School District and Mesa Community College, as well as families and community groups from throughout Mesa.

The festival is a multiethnic celebration honoring the legacy Cesar Chavez - the ideals of his life, work and vision. This event is held every April and attracts several thousand people from Mesa and the East Valley.  Event marketing and promotion targets educational systems, community-based organizations, businesses and government agencies.

Latino Town Hall

This annual gathering of Mesa’s Latinos and public leaders provides educational and networking opportunities.  More importantly, it provides participants an opportunity to join with a committee, chaired by a MAHC board member, which meets year-round with a specific area of focus:

Economic Development—Enhance the development of Hispanic businesses in the East valley

Education—Encourage parent involvement, cultural sensitivity training and recruitment/retention of Latino in education

Leadership—Promotes leadership development activities and community-wide events such as voter registration drives and candidate forums

Health—Focuses on prevention issues relative to Latino health

Youth—Promotes student participation in the Latino Town Hall and other educational/community activities

Mesa Minority & Small Business Symposium

This half-day symposium invites over 500 Mesa Hispanic and small businesses to come together for networking and development opportunities.  Small business provider organizations will present seminars regarding business start-up ideas, financing and marketing, bonding, personnel and other issues of importance for small business success.  A luncheon award ceremony will also recognize successful small businesses and agencies that have help businesses to succeed.

Socials

MAHC actively celebrates the accomplishments of our Latino community and sponsors a variety of social receptions throughout the year.
