Through the Mesa Association of Hispanic Citizens, the Leadership Track seeks to develop Mesa community leaders by providing training, education, relationship building and community activism. The goal of this group is to assist MAHC in ensuring that the broader Mesa community and particularly Latinos develop their professional and personal potential to serve as leaders, advance into greater leadership roles, and advocate for positive change in their community.
Additionally, the leadership track serves as the venue to address current issues that effect our Latino population, such as immigration, police use of force, demographics, etc. Committee members have become involved in the coordination of candidate workshops/forums, recruitment of members to participate in grass-roots leadership development programs, voter registration, promotion of Latinos into City Boards and Committees, and advancement of Latinos in running for public office.
